Acts 16:11-15/ Ps 149:1b-2. 3-4. 5-6a and 9b/ Jn 15:26-16:4a
Today, Lydia having encountered the message of the risen Lord, is changed, and opened her home in hospitality to the men of God, and cared for their needs. This is the Spirit bearing witness to Jesus’ presence and action in the world. As the disciples preached, the Spirit bore witness through them. Those who received the word and the Spirit showed also communion with those witnessing. They treated one another with great love. They opened, not just their doors, but their hearts to one another. There are times that God has opened our hearts so that we can open our doors to others, yet we do not. We should allow our hearts to be opened to God’s message, and our doors to be opened to others especially God’s messengers in hospitality, just like Lydia did.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, open my heart to experience your love so that I may open my heart and door to others, especially your messengers. Amen.
