One of the commonly used but abused word in today’s world is ‘love.’ However, no matter the concept of love which a person has, there is always one source of true love, God. Love is of God; it comes from Him and belongs to Him (1John 4:8). Thus, it is a contradiction for a person to claim to love and still act in an evil way. Sincere love always long for the good. Thus, in the first reading of today, Moses, encouraged the people to fill their hearts with love; for with love, they can easily observe the commands of God and worship Him properly. Love helps in enhancing a cordial relationship between fellow human beings, and guides them in the best course of action. The world is full of evil because love is lacking. Let us expunge all forms of hatred and malicious intent from our hearts and replace it with a sincere love.
