The ceremony of Induction which officially bestows on a priest all the authority of governance and pastoral responsibilities was officiated by the Rt. Rev Peter Brignall Bishop of Wrexham diocese on 30th September 2022 on the feast of St. Jerome.
The event took place withing a Liturgical cerebration. Before the rite of Induction, the bishop gave a thought provoking homily whereby he reminded the priest about his role to be a true shepherd whose faith encourages the faith of those he leads. He also encouraged the priest to be a man of prayer and love for God and his people. The bishop entrusted the priest into the intercession of St. Jerome.
Fr Francis was invited to make a profession of Faith and to also take a solemn Oath of Fidelity on Assuming an Office to be exercised in the name of the Church and finally made the Oath to administer the Temporal Goods of the Church. Fr. Francis signed all these documents and it was witnessed by his regional Superior Fr. Mark Odion MSP who also signed the documents.
Among the clergy above were some ministers from other denominations. The mass continues as usual.
The parishioners welcomed everyone to their parish hall where all sorts of food and drinks were displaced to entertain the visitors and everyone around. It was indeed a joyful celebration.
