TUESDAY EIGHT WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II

GOOD DEEDS WILL BE REWARDED

Sometimes in life, people laugh at you when you follow the path of your faith very well, many people will call you names and think that you are stupid to have taken some decisions because of your faith.

Jesus tells us today in the gospel reading, that those who make good decisions will be rewarded. Peter and the other Apostles, had made much sacrifices to follow Jesus. Some have left their parents and siblings, some left behind their lucrative professions and businesses, and some did not even have a family or possession of their own because of the kingdom. Peter was concerned today that he hopes to be rewarded after his sacrifices.

Jesus therefore assured him that there is no one who has left money, house, brothers, sisters, father, children or land for his sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not be repaid a hundred times over, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and land. Let us therefore be encouraged by the fact that whatever we give up or spend for Jesus, will be rewarded.

Lord, grant us the grace to trust that our sacrifices for your sake will be rewarded, so that we can make good decisions for our lives. Amen.
