TUESDAY FOURTH WEEK OF LENT

JESUS THE FRIEND OF THE POOR AND NEEDY

Have you ever been in a situation where you just needed someone to ask how you are doing? Most times, people are more in need of emotional support rather than financial or material support.

The man at the pool in the gospel reading of today, is not complaining that God has not offered solution to his predicament, but that he had no friend to assist him to get the healing.

Most times we abandon people when they are most in need, not many people bother about the sick, poor and the imprisoned. No body wants to go close to them. It is never the best thing to abandon those who are poor and sick. Jesus saw many sick people by the pool, but he decided to cure the man who had no one to assist him to be healed. Are you still a friend of that sick and poor person? Do you offer emotional, material and spiritual support to the person? We are called especially in this lenten season, to care for the sick and poor among us and be charitable to them physically and spiritually.
