EASTER MONDAY We are witnesses to the resurrection

Soon after Jesus' resurrection, we begin to see the battle between the truth and falsehood, between good and evil, between standing for the right and plotting for the wrong. On the one hand, Jesus appeared to the women and told them to proclaim the good news of his resurrection to his disciples and prepare to meet him in Galilee. But, on the other hand, the guards met with the chief priests and the elders who began to plot falsehood against Jesus' resurrection, that it was his peasant disciples who came to steal his body. Similarly, today's world hardly promotes the truth. However, it quickly spreads misinformation, fake news on social media for clicks, and false messages to encourage violence, hatred, tribalism, revenge, ritualist activities, bribery, and corruption. We must take a stand either for the truth or for evil, love or hate, concern or cheating, reconciliation, or retaliation. Jesus has come to give us life; therefore, let us be people of truth and courage and not blindly support evil, either on social media or otherwise.

PRAYER: Dear Risen Lord, please give us your grace to remain faithful witnesses to your resurrection, especially when encountering life's difficulties. Amen.
