Acts 6:1-7/ Ps 33:1-2. 4-5. 18-19 (22)/ 1 Pt 2:4-9/ Jn 14:1-12
No one is useless in the house of the Father. We are all precious stones with Christ, the cornerstone rejected by the builders, but with immense importance to the building. Jesus informs us in the gospel that there are many rooms in his Father’s house. Just as Jesus has work to do, everyone in Christ also have a part to play. Today, the Church invites us to reflect on the many ways we can become part of Jesus’ mission and ministry, through service of others and the gospel. Some are called to be priests and religious, others to be choristers, lectors, altar servers, builders etc. No single person can do these works alone, neither is their anyone who is incapable of contributing. We must not discourage others for whatever reason, neither should we ever feel like we have nothing to offer, because we are all living stones that are treasured in the house of the Father.
Prayer: Grant, O Lord, that I may treasure the call to serve in your Church and give myself wholly for the propagation of the good news. May I never be a source of discouragement to others who are willing to serve. Amen
