The action of Jesus in healing the man possessed by demons in the gospel did not go down well with the people of that town. They placed more value on their animals than on human life. We can liken this possessed man to the outcast, the poor, the marginalised and the less-privileged in our society. How do we treat them? Do we place value on other things more than their lives? At the heart of our Christian calling is to help such people find meaning in life. So, help somebody to find meaning in life today.

Lord Jesus, please, give me what it takes to value human life and to come to the aid of those abandoned. Amen.
