Jesus is our compassionate Saviour

Our God is compassionate, and Jesus Christ manifested the compassion of God the Father. The gospel of today states: “When Jesus saw the crowd, he had compassion on them because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd” (Matthew 9: 36). Compassion is the ability to feel the suffering or misfortune of another person and be stirred to act in order to help him or her. St. Augustine of Hippo says: “What is compassion but a kind of fellow-feeling in our hearts for another’s misery, which compels us to come to his help by every means in our power”. If you are feeling helpless in any kind of need, pain, and challenge, know that you have a Master and Saviour who cares about you. Jesus is our compassionate Saviour. Find rest and hope in Him.

Prayer:
Compassionate Jesus, I find rest and hope in you.  May Your eyes of compassion be upon me today. Amen.
