Never do evil to another

Today’s firs reading recounts part of the story of Joseph who had been sold by his own brothers. Twenty years later, God brought the same brothers of Joseph to Egypt to face him. Now before Joseph they remembered what they did to their little brother. How they hated, envied him and plotted against him. Moreover, they casted him into a pit, callously ignored his cries for help; they eventually sold him as a slave, and lied to their own father. What an ugly, sordid tangle of evil. The passage of time had not erased their guilt. For all these years, the evil they did to their brother laid like a knife edge in their hearts. Never do evil to anyone. Galatians 6:7 says: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap”. To reap good things, you must sow good deeds.

PRAYER:
Abba Father, please rip me of evil intention and evil deeds. May I also not become a victim of evil and wickedness. Amen
