Each man, a reservoir of secrets

How too quickly we endeavour to let others know the good and pleasant stories about our lives, our families, our church and our nation. However, when our deeds, and those of our families etc. are embarrassing, we do not project these dark spots to the public. This is hardly surprising. What would be surprising rather is a situation where we tend to pretend not only before other humans but also before God. It is God who can, through grace, bestow on us a self which we can be proud of, a self we can project to the public consciousness. The gospel today is right when it observes, “no one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel.” When our deeds are just and right we do not cover them up.  May grace lead the way so that our deeds will be what we all can be proud of.

PRAYER: Grant me, Lord, to adopt a transparent life style and live in the light of your truth. Amen
