The dreams of Nigeria as a nation since her independence have been flattened by ethno-religious sentiments, discord, selfishness, crime, and corruption which are indicative in the laggy progress we have made so far. This has stolen our peace. Isaiah’s prophecy becomes something we can leverage on. This prophecy did not only reveal Jesus as the fount of the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, but also as a reconciler of conflicts. Jesus’ birth was threatened by the sword of Herod but his Mother Mary’s arm became a fortress for him. So in the Virgin Mary, Jesus revealed how we can be shielded and tended in the midst of our adversities when we fly to her patronage. Through her maternal intercession, Jesus can bring peace and reconcile our differences so that the wolf can dwell with the lamb. Because peace and unity is a platform where progress can thrive. Let us continue to commit our country to Mary’s maternal care and she will never forsake us.
