The good steward

A tenant occupies on rent a land or a property belonging to another. This implies that a tenant is a temporary occupant that can be ejected once the rent expires or anytime the landlord decides to terminate the contract. This is exactly what we are here on earth. We are mere tenants and God is the landlord. God decides when our stay here on earth expires. The reason Jesus came into our world was precisely because we were bad tenants who failed to be good caretakers to what God entrusted to us. We all became selfish which denied our world the love that it needed. Jesus came to teach us to love but the world killed him. We can stand out different from the world and promote the love of Jesus by adhering to the warning of St Paul. “Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Phil 4:8). This is our mission as Christians.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, grant us the grace to be good stewards of all you created. Amen.
