A true and reliable testimony is the one we hear from people and not a self acclaimed testimony. Although people can say false things about us but if we are good, the attestation will also come from people. The woman who spoke from the crowd was so overwhelmed by the awesomeness of Jesus that she exclaimed and testified to this by blessing God for the womb that bore Jesus. Jesus immediately pointed out that the testimony of God about us was more important. We shall be called “blessed” by God and truly his own when we keep his word. And so what would God’s testimony of us look like in the things we think, say, and do openly or secretly? Are we going to be very comfortable to have God give an open testimony of us just as he did at Jesus’ baptism? God can only be proud to testify about us when we truly keep his words. So just like Mary our mother, let us choose to be obedient servants of God.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, may our ultimate desire be only to do the will of your Father in heaven. Amen.
