Love conquers all

According to St Paul, in today’s first reading, our Christian vocation and duty is to love. He says “owe no one anything except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.” He then concludes: “Love does no wrong to a neighbour; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.” A child once asked Pope Francis what God was doing before he created the world. Pope Francis answered that God was loving before he created the world. It is the nature of God to love. And even after creation, God is still loving. If it is God’s nature to love, it is also our nature to love too. We owe one another sincere and genuine love. Let us learn to love. When we love, we can never go wrong. This love consists in both wishing others well and showing acts of kindness. Love entails giving. You cannot love without giving. You may give without loving but you cannot love without giving.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to love sincerely and genuinely. Amen
