God's love transcends human understanding

In our growing world of indifference, consumerism, and perverse individualism, that widens the social gap between the rich and the poor, we Christians are called in the spirit of Easter to love without exclusion or impartiality irrespective of tribe, race, or religion. The gospel invites us to break free from this social prison of "exclusivism" by imitating God, who loves us genuinely without distinction and calls us to love unconditionally. Because he loves us so much, God gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him will be saved, and wants us to bear this kind of love for others. This was the type of love among the first Christians who supported those in need so that everyone was cared for. This manifestation of love is possible only in an authentic Christian community. Let us, then, show a genuine sense of responsibility towards others by sharing with them in love, for God wants us to care for and love others as St. Augustine said, "God loves each of us as if there was only one of us to love".

Prayer: Lord, enable me always to love and help those in need without counting the cause. Amen
