Christians today struggle with internal and external pressures or influences, posing great difficulties to authentic witnessing because the world’s attitude to truth is relatively subjective, compromising, unacceptable and tricky. The world’s form of witnessing lacks genuineness and threatens the loss of one’s soul in eternity. Jesus calls us to express genuine and authentic witnessing via the simple act of obedience to his teachings revealed through the Holy Spirit. This act of obedience toward God helps us to subject our desires and egos and accept the supremacy of God’s truth over us; as the apostles profess, “obedience to God comes before obedience to men.” This belief was the guiding principle of the apostles despite the internal and external pressures they experienced and thus gained eternal life through death. Therefore, as adopted children of God, let us always believe and subject ourselves to the divine truth in Christ Jesus and thereby gain the eternal life God has promised us (Jn 3:36). 

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me by your Holy Spirit to become a faithful and authentic witness to the truth by being obedient to your teachings manifested in Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.
