There are various killings in today’s readings. In the first reading, we see the killing of a man whose body was abandoned in the market place. The heir to the vineyard was also murdered by tenants in the gospel. St Boniface whom we celebrate today was also martyred by the people he went to minister to alongside some clerics and converts. Many killings take place in our world. Innocent people are being killed and unaccounted for. So many families are weighed down by grief and seek justice. May humanity value human life above sentiments.
PRAYER: Help us, O Lord, to recognise that life is sacred so that we shall be prompted to preserve and cherish it. Amen
