One of the titles of Jesus is that of “Son of David” (Lk 1:32-33, Mk10:48) who was born in Bethlehem, the city of David. Though in the gospel of today Jesus wanted his listeners to understand that he is the Son of David because of his earthly lineage, he is still Lord over David because he is Divine. David recognised this by paying homage to him in the Psalms. Jesus wants us to recognise him as the Lord. He is the Lord of our lives. He will make all things right because he is always in control.

PRAYER: O Jesus, I believe you are the Lord and Master of the whole world. Rule my life and all that belongs to me. Amen
