The story of the healing of the centurion’s servant reveals that we need to possess a strong and unwavering faith in our Christian journey. The centurion (army commander) came pleading with Jesus to heal his servant. Jesus obliged to go and heal the servant, but the centurion made a statement of faith that got Jesus amazed. Jesus said to those that followed Him: “I have never seen such a faith in Israel” (cf. Matthew 8:10). Part of this faith statement of the centurion is what we say at every Eucharistic celebration: “Lord I am not worthy that you should come under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed”. There are a few lessons that we can learn from this encounter. (1) The centurion had a deep confidence in Jesus. (2) With Jesus, distance is not a barrier. (3) Jesus has all the authority to deliver and to heal. No matter your situation of need, call on Jesus today. 

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I trust in your power to deliver and heal me. Please, say your word and I will be healed. Amen.
