When I see the blood, I will pass over you

The Old Testament is a fulfilment of the New Testament. And Jesus the Messiah is the focus of the New Testament. It, therefore, means that all that were done and spoken about in the Old Testament were to come to fulfilment in Jesus Christ. The first reading of today records the institution of the Passover with the Passover lamb, the unblemished lamb, as a symbol of deliverance for the children of Israel. God then made this promise: "When I see the blood, I will pass over you." Jesus is our lamb, the lamb without sin; he saved us by his blood. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says that “we were saved by the precious Blood of Jesus, not by anything perishable”. The blood of Jesus Christ continues to plead for us.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for your blood shed for me on the cross of calvary. May I continue to be protected and preserved from every kind of destruction and wickedness by your blood. Amen.
