St Mary Magdalene, Feast - She went in search of the Lord Jesus

Today we celebrate the feast of Mary Magdalene who was not among the twelve Apostles, yet was the first person to go to the tomb early in the morning of Christ resurrection. She had received so much love, grace and mercy from Jesus, and was only returning love for love. Indeed, when God has shown you so much mercy, all you can do is cling to him. Mary Magdalene sought and loved the Lord so much that she was tortured by his absence, and wept. She sought the Lord so much that she wanted to be even if it was just his dead body. Jesus eventually revealed himself to her, calling her by name. How much do you seek Jesus, not to request anything, but to worship and honour him? Do you hunger to be with him in any way you can? St. Mary Magdalene shows us the love and longing that should characterize the life of every true believer.

PRAYER
I come to you today, my Dearest Redeemer and Saviour, and ask for nothing, only to seek you, that I may live for you who died that I may live. Amen
