16TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - We have a God who is patient

Sometimes people ask the question: Why is God allowing so much evil in the world? The gospel of today recounts the teaching of Jesus on the parable of the wheat and weed. The enemy planted the weeds among wheats, and when the servants asked: Should we uproot the weeds? The master said: “Let them all grow together till harvest time” (cf. Matthew 13:25). This teaches us that God is patient with the wicked who perpetuate evil, giving them time to repent. God is indeed patient with our world. Ezekiel 33:11 says: ‘“As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from his evil way and live.”’ We must note that every sinner is a potential saint. In your own personal life, don’t be discouraged to find vices and virtue, you can overcome the vices in you. Do good always, and not evil.

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, please save me from the evil of this world, especially the enemy that plants evil at night. Help me to contribute to good things in this world and not evil. Amen.
