To be said to be hostile to God is a description so many would not readily admit. Yet this is exactly what we are when living in sin. The first reading terms it being “hostile in mind”. In various ways, our minds revolt against God and his ways. But thanks be to God who, according to the first reading, has reconciled us to himself through the death of Christ. But to experience this reconciliation beyond theory, each one must live with Christ as his model, in order that the mind will submit in obedience rather than thrive in hostility.

PRAYER: Teach me, Holy Spirit to live in imitation of Christ. Amen
