Is it not paradoxical that the thing which we dread most (the cross) is the very thing with which we are required to fall in love? I have a problem with the way some Catholics just go through the way of the cross during Lent without paying attention to the meaning of the prayers they recite.  We are meant to internalize the words and actions of Jesus as we journey with him to Calvary. As he falls three times and rises again on his way to the cross, we are meant to rise again and again from whatever holds us captive (our past sins which serve as excuses to fall again) etc. Take courage and with Jesus, bear your cross with eyes set on the One who has the power to redeem.

PRAYER: May we, O Lord, patiently carry our crosses with undying hope as we await the day of redemption. Amen
