PUSH (Pray Until Something Happens)

Jesus in today’s gospel tells us the importance of persistence in prayer. Sometimes, when we pray and we do not get what we pray for, we begin to lose faith and doubt God. God’s delays to our prayers are not his denials. God knows exactly what is best for us. In fact, He knows what we need as distinct from what we want. Hence, when we pray, let us not give up on God. The Former Governor of Akwa-Ibom State in Nigeria once said, “What money cannot do, more money can do.” So too I say, “what prayer cannot do, more prayers can do.” Therefore, like the widow in the parable who was persistent in asking, let us learn to pray until something happens.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, in times of trouble, distress or need, give me the grace to be persistent in prayer and not to lose heart. Amen
